While we would say that our plugin is awesome we’re still looking at improving it. So please write a comment below on what improvements and new features you would like to see. If you like someone else’s suggestion simply reply to their comment saying you do so.

Hello, I have just bought this plugin and I like it a lot. However, there are somethings that could be added:

    - Show the best voted elements (I am using the Hot or Not mode) per category or all together.
    - Make a list of the last added elements.
(Both requests are similar: display various elements ordered by different criteria).

    - Give the possibility of displaying the name of the Group of each element in the Hot or not mode.

    - Create a RSS channel for the new elements. That way, new content can be added periodically and users will be notified.

Adding all them will convert this nice plugin in a perfect one!

  2. Diego says:

Ah! And also give the possibility to punctuate from 1 to 10 instead of from 10 to 1 (looks strange for me).

  3. Diego says:

Annother good improve would be to give the possibility to vote in each single element page.

  4. Hyder says:

Thanks for your input Diego, we’ll definitely be adding new features in the near future.

  5. Craig Luecke says:

    1. Top 10 in the HOT OR NOT mode.

    2. Be able to run HOT OR NOT and BATTLE MODE on same site at same time.

  6. Eliano says:

    I use battle mode.
On results page it would in my opinion make more sense to sort the result based on percentage than on battles won or battles lost.

In Hot or Not mode i would like to suggest adding a shortcode for one specific competitor.

  7. Julian says:

I would like to see all of the above…:P But in addition to it, it would be nice when you show the averages in hot or not mode the number of votes shows aswell.

    Overall a very good plugin!

  8. Max says:

Hi, in hot or not mode i can’t see the stats. Is this the right code to insert in the post after the showdown code ? [wpstats group=”auto” number=”5″ desc=”false”]

    • Weborithm says:

Stats don’t show in the Hot or Not mode, only in the Battle mode. Hot or Not stats are displayed on the Competitor Post itself. We’ll probably add this feature in the next release.

  9. Championbiz says:

We really would like to show a sidebar menu of all the available categories.
Otherwise, I can’t see how categories can be used.

  10. John says:

I agree with all of the above, but I really need a photo that is uploaded to automatically create a competitor post. Not sure whether it is easier to use a gallery plugin like NextGen or photosmash or to just add an upload form to showdown.

Public moderation/reporting of competitors is also a priority.

Would be willing to subsidize development of these features if you can commit to a delivery window.

    Thanks for the plugin.

We’d like to use your plugin, however, we need it to pull images from instagram that are tagged with a specific hash. There are a couple of plugins that do that already (instagrams) but if there was a way to have your plugin do the same we’d def. buy it.

  12. DJ says:

Hey,I don’t think your plugin is compatible with my theme. When trying to add a competitor there’s no option to set the picture as a “featured image”. Here is the theme I’m using:

I tried it on another site with a different theme and it works. Is there anything you can do? I bought the plugin to use specifically for this site and can’t change the theme.

  13. Thezilla says:

Thanks again for your work, I have been using it for about a year now. I would like to be able to post a photo of a competitor in hot or not mode in another page/post with a “live” average listed below or aside it. I am also interested in the instagram hastag idea of pulling photos with a hashtag.

  14. Joe says:

The plugin is amazing the only thing I would like to see is the ability to post Battle mode and Hot Or Not mode on the same website.

  15. Roughkut says:

I really want to link a username with images added. That way you can see how many wins each user has on there photos they uploaded. Also I want pics to automatically go to published instead of draft in user submit.

    • Weborithm says:

You can change the draft status to published by doing the below change in the user submit php file.

      Look for this line:

      $new_entry['post_status'] = 'draft';

      and change it to:

      $new_entry['post_status'] = 'publish';

We’ll consider the other feature request. Thanks!

  16. I have made a number of improvements to the HotorNot mode of the plugin including showing stats under the vote area, and better stats/more shortcodes (top/worst by average rating, recent, most views in last 7 days, etc.) Fairly simple to implement these in your next release, guys — if you need a step-by-step let me know. It would be nice to have a plugin that was more comprehensive without having to do so much customization and I’d like to share the love. Thanks!

    • Weborithm says:

Hi Jessica, I’ve sent you a reply via email. Please respond to it when you get a chance. We’d very much like to implement your improvements!

  17. Hien says:

Can you offer an unlimited user add on license.?

Also would like to have automatic approval with user flagging system so we can set the number of user flags for inappropriate media to be removed automatically
